All About Me- I was born and raised in Reading, PA, but I have been living in South Carolina for more than 20 years. I am married, and I have three daughters: Hazel (age 2), Ava (age 10), and my bonus daughter, Preslie, (age 18). We have a sweet family dog named Benson. I love reading, going to the movies, and taking long walks with my family!

My Teaching Philosophy- Albert Einstein said, "The important thing is to never stop questioning." This philosophy is one in which I strongly believe. If children are asking questions, they are actively thinking about what we are learning; internalizing the ideas while trying to apply them to real life or areas of study.  Curiosity leads to great discoveries! I also believe that all students need to be challenged. I have high expectations for my students, and I have found that they almost always rise to the occasion.

Education and Experience-I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Education at the University of South Carolina, (Go Gamecocks!) and I have a Master's Degree in Education from Cambridge College. I have been a National Board Certified teacher since 2004. In 20I4, I was given the honor of being named Bluffton Elementary School's Teacher of the Year for the 2014-15 school year. The 2017-18 school year marks my 20th year of teaching. I taught my first seven years at Hilton Head IB in a second grade classroom. Then I joined Bluffton Elementary, teaching in a 2/3 multi-age class for two years before switching over to the GT 3rd and 4th grade classes that I presently teach. It is a privilege to work with such a talented, enthusiastic group of children.
